Researchers at the Hadassah University Medical Center have developed a novel strategy to derive and control differentiation of large quantities of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs), which may hold the key to reversing disorders such as Parkinson's disease, diabetes, and Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD).
The Hadassah Medical Center's nursing leadership is reshaping the role of nurses to maximize the many skills nurses bring to the medical team. One chief strategy is empowering nurses with greater autonomy to make decisions to enhance patient care; another is the establishment of a Nursing Research Center to generate hospital-wide clinical research studies.

Research at the Hadassah Medical Center has been bolstered by a new momentum, thanks to the success of Hadasit, its technology transfer company, and the new Biotechnology Park on Hadassah-Ein Kerem's campus.
Hadasit Bio-Holdings Ltd., the Hadassah Medical Center's technology transfer company, has announced that two of the leading biotechnology investment groups in Israel have donated $1.5 million each to ProtAb, its wholly owned portfolio company.
A new program has opened in Jerusalem, one that combines the best of Hadassah's medical school with elite Army training.
