Thanks to generous sponsors, ticket sales, and inviting auction items, proceeds of about $17,500 from Hadassah New Zealand’s November 29 Tea Party and Auction exceeded the unit leaders’ goal to raise funds toward new maxillofacial equipment for the Hadassah Medical Center.

Hadassah Mexico hosted its second First Aid course in the fall, this time reaching out to the Monte Sinai community of Mexico City.

During the annual school fair sponsored by the Atid Jewish school in Mexico City, Hadassah Mexico sold First Aid Kits, which they created, modelled after kits designed by Hadassah Panama for its health fair. In addition, they took advantage of the opportunity to distribute material about the Hadassah Medical Center and Hadassah International to the parents. For the first time in France, The Soul Messengers Band, an internationally renowned group that originally hails from Africa and now lives in Israel, gave concerts in Paris and Nice-Côte d’Azur on behalf of Hadassah France in support of the Hadassah Medical Center.

Preparing for the new decade of Hadassah fundraising, Hadassah International held a European Fundraising Seminar at the end of October in Zurich, Switzerland, during which participants shared their passion for Hadassah and learned how to capitalize upon it to raise ever greater funds for the Hadassah Medical Center.

Hadassah New Zealand’s inaugural Valda Knight Memorial Scholarship recipient, Auckland District Health Board Analyst Dr. Ronald Ma, recently returned from his clinical exchange at the Hadassah Medical Center, impressed by the standard of clinical practice and the professionalism, motivation, and enthusiasm of its health professionals. When asked what he would like others around the world to know about the Hadassah Medical Center, he responded: “Hadassah is the most neutral place and contributes to the international community with its wealth of knowledge, expertise, and innovation, regardless of race, religion and politics.”

Yael Lehmann from Hadassah Nice Côte d'Azur, France, together with her husband, Patrick, and son, Jean-David, who lives in Israel, celebrated their gift to the Center for Children with Chronic Diseases at the Hadassah Medical Center with a visit in November. Senior Physician Dr. Shaia Wexler and Head Nurse Yael Kastiel gave the family a tour of the facilities, explaining the functions of the various rooms and clinics. The family then unveiled the plaque that commemorates their donation in memory of Patrick’s family, who perished in the Holocaust.

Fortified with donated designer clothes, Hadassah Austria once again hosted its annual designer sale in a Vienna art gallery, raising $12,000 dollars for the Hadassah Medical Center.
