Two talented singers brought Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel's musical hits alive for 200 people in an intimate atmosphere of a small Left-Bank Parisian dinner theatre. Funds raised are allocated for the new Altura Department of Genetics at the Hadassah Medical Center.

Hadassah International Director of Resource Development Gady Gronich met with Diana, Princess and Duchess of Saxony, in Berlin this past March. Princess Diana, he reports, feels very close to Israel and agreed to help Hadassah Germany by joining the Berlin committee in planning future events.

The most common question Prof. Orly Elpeleg, head of Hadassah’s Center of Excellence for Pediatric Metabolic Diseases, hears is, “What in the world is a metabolic disease?” Actually, the world of metabolic diseases is a virtually undiscovered one, and Prof. Elpeleg is one of the few pioneers in this field.

Dr. Mario Ringler, President of the Seminario Rabinico Latinoamericano (the Latin American Rabbinical Seminary of Buenos Aires), who initiated an academic exchange between Hadassah and the Argentinian province of Tucumán, visited Hadassah International headquarters in New York on April 25. He gave a special presentation about the grand impact Hadassah’s physicians had when they crisscrossed Tucumán Province to share their expertise in pediatric health.
