Latin American Israel Bonds Mission Brings Gift for Hadassah Medical Center

During an April Latin American Israel Bonds Mission to Israel, delegates visited the Hadassah Medical Center and Hadassah Mexico Board Member Renee Harari presented a statuette of Israeli Former Prime Minister Golda Meir to Hadassah Medical Center Director General Prof. Shlomo Mor-Yosef.
The delegation toured Hadassah’s Trauma Unit; were briefed by Prof. Jose Cohen, Hadassah’s renowned neurosurgeon and interventional neuroradiologist, about Hadassah’s innovative techniques for saving the lives of stroke victims; and viewed a video presentation about an average day at Hadassah Hospital. They also heard a lecture by Argentinian-born Dr. Mijal Luria of the Department Of Obstetrics and Gynecology on sexuality, family relationships, and intimacy. Dr. Luria runs a special clinic which offers education about healthy sexual behavior.
Adding a final touch to a wonderful visit, Ethel Fainstein, Hadassah International Director of Latin America, inspired the delegates as she brought to their attention that Hadassah builds bridges to peace among nations through the healing powers and the universal language of medicine. Mrs. Fainstein invited the participants, representing the various Jewish communities of Latin America, to join Hadassah International and embrace our objective to facilitate the exchange of information between the Hadassah Medical Center and medical institutions around the world.
