The United Kingdom’s Conservative Friends of Israel and Labor Friends of Israel both experienced a comprehensive visit to the Hadassah Medical Center this September, where they were briefed about the Israeli health care system, healing and research at Hadassah, and our Medical Center’s pivotal role as a bridge to peace through medicine. The delegations, whose visits were facilitated by Hadassah United Kingdom, also learned about the Hadassah Medical Center’s overseas medical outreach.
The Conservative Friends of Israel met with Dr. Zvi Israel of Hadassah’s Neurosurgery Department and Dr. Dvora Radomsky of Hadassah’s Division of Internal Medicine, both formerly from the UK. As the participants witnessed the diverse patient population in Hadassah’s Pediatric Oncology Department, Hadassah Consultant Sarabeth Lukin educated them about Hadassah’s collaboration with East Jerusalem’s Augusta Victoria Hospital in the field of pediatrics. Hadassah United Kingdom’s Nathalie Dwek accompanied the group.
The Labor Friends of Israel delegation had the opportunity to meet Hadassah’s Prof. Allan Bloom, Chief of Vascular and Interventional Radiology; Dr. Yehuda Ginosar and Dr. Phillip Levin, Dept. of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine; and Dr. Marc Gotkine, Dept. of Neurology. As they viewed the Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower construction site, they were briefed on the importance of the new Sarah Wetsman Davidson Tower to Hadassah and the city of Jerusalem.
